(Pictures above) HALCYON Model of first ALIEN movie ALIEN worker. Model was made of vinyl, the same as ALIEN QUEEN and was assembled using superglue, gaps filled with milliput, then shaped when wet. Painted in in acrylic paints from a pallet mix, not detailed exactly to the movie version, but various panels painted as first coat. then, when completly dry, was painted with several translucent layers of acrylic gloss clear, tinted with various greens and blues. The trasnparent vinyl head covering had the edges painted gloss black to lower internal reflections --this works very well to give a better appearance to the transparency edges--. |
A L I E N
This is the ALIEN from the first ALIEN MOVIE.
ALIEN was easy to paint, It came in grey palstic, with a solid head (No transparen covering). I painted details on the arms legs and torso,
sometimes smudging them before the paint dired. Then overpainted with enamel 'washes' that were translucent to
make the appearance of see-through skin and detail.Teeth were picked out in white, then goss clear was overpainted.
Model photgraphs really well even though it is quite small.
