	Model was made of light grey polystyrene plastic. assembled without gaps, but some filler was used to maintain shapes accross parts. Brushed in acrylic paints using the same techniques as the ALIEN models, detailed over a base coat of darker colors in the cracks and joints. then stippled and overbrushed sometimes before the undercoat had dried. There is no specific detailing known, so anything goes, the modeler can do what looks right! Finished with a transslucent overcoat of gloss clear. Matt paint on stand in contrast. Model parts cleaned with detergent before painting. TAMYA model acrylics were used, but any make of acrylic are suitable. Approx 9 1.2 inches (24 cm ) tall. Licensed from the movie Independence day, The kit is a very good rendering, and parts fit together very well without gaps or flash. I used greens and yellows rather than the blues and greys of the movie version. However, the 2-Stop underexposure seems to render some images looking blue. Dreadlocks and chin strips are a bit fiddly to fit, and care must be taken to fit the correct ones in the correct hole. Model can be glued on its knuckes and dreadlocks to the stand for easy painting. I finished the stand painting last, covering oversplashes with a matt brown. BACK to ALIEN list
