SPACESHIPS from STAR TREK
Models made by Paul L. Cass form Alfderholt, Wiltshire. decased. aged 49. P aul was my friend for many years.(Pictured here in black shirt). We both made platic model kits. He specalized in science-fiction models and here are a few photos of models he made in the 1990's. The quality of his work greatly improved over the years untill he surpassed my abilities by a considerable margin. At the end of his life he was on quite a lot of medication that blurred vision and caused his hands to shake, ending his model work. To begin with, he would use a lot of glue and roughly paint a model. On seeing some of my models from the 1970's he seemed to realize you didn't have to use the whole tube of glue on each model!. From then on his model work was superb. Subjects included ALIENS, STAR TREK, BABYLON and other TV series. Models were stored all over the house as there were more than 50 or so. I guess when his house in Alderholt was cleared, the models would have been destroyed. This was a pity , as the models were up to the standard for use as film-props. The pictures here, were taken using simple camera techniques and no special effects used other than a black backdrop and a tripod. |

(Pictures of models above) Are all made and painted by Paul Cass. He did not use a workbench or table, seemd to kneel on the floor with all the boxes and stuff around him, painting entirely by hand. You can see for example, from the ST: Yamoto model picture, the incredible amount of detail he hand painted on to each model. |
